For a follow up to Naked in Death this one was pretty good! It felt shorter than Naked but not hatefully so. It also builds on that book in such a way that the reader need not have read it in order to understand this installment.
Characters were fleshed out a bit more in this installment, but not overbearingly. The focus is clearly the mystery, and Ms. Robb/Roberts did a masterful job with a red herring that kept me from guessing the killer's identity until the end of the story.
The pacing was perfect, moving at a good clip, and not getting bogged down too terribly in the details to keep things interesting. I'm remembering snippets of future books in the series now, and can't wait to see how those snippets pan out. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
