Having tried to read this a couple of months ago, I didn’t have high hopes that I would finish it, but I actually made it through the book, and rather quickly too! I liked how this tied back into the Cat and Bones books, without being too overt about it. I was familiar with the characters from previous Cat and Bones books, but I did like learning more about Spade in this one. However, I think that Denise wound up reversing her position on the Supernatural world too quickly to be believable, especially in light of the traumatic events in her past and her severe PTSD when it came to those events and memories. I liked that it also tied back to one of the novellas, expanding the spooky base to include Demons. It was an interesting take on them, and one I’ve rarely seen. All things considered, I’ll continue the series, but I think I’ll take longer to do so, perhaps reading them every other month, instead of monthly.
