After the pure enjoyment that was the first book in the series, and the somewhat enjoyable follow up novella, I dove into this expecting another great read. Sadly, what I got was somewhat lackluster.
There's really not a lot of new insights into the characters here, save for one substantial one about Charley's dad. The story instead focuses on the mystery aspect of the plot, of which there are two. Bad thing was, both of them rambled all over the place, as if they were drawn out entirely too long! The resolution of them was lackluster at best.
While Charley handled all of it with her usual snark and humor, it wasn't as an enjoyable read for me as what I had hoped. However, I do still plan on continuing the series!
