It's hard to keep things fresh when you're over 30 books into a series, and sadly, there will be times where you repeat plot lines. This book is one of those times. It felt like a cross between a previous story where the killers were competing against each other (my memory is a bit faulty and I can't remember the title to link it) and [b:Strangers in Death|1158706|Strangers in Death (In Death, #26)|J.D. Robb|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1436905661s/1158706.jpg|2501504]. This led to a stale story where it was hard for me to find anything new about it. The story telling was excellent as always, but the retreaded plot made it a lackluster offering at best.
