I wasn't that impressed with this story. While it seemed historically accurate, the pictures inserted into the body of work was distracting. Another major distraction was that several words throughout the book were italicized and had vowels missing. It could have been a device to illustrate how the Hero had lost his hearing, but to me it was quite bothersome! I also had a hard time connecting to the characters, though I was sympathetic to their plights. Their families were also difficult to believe, as if they were caricatures of the people they were supposed to represent. All in all, for me, it was a disappointing and frustrating read, especially after reading the prologue, since I had hoped we were getting the continuation of that story.
